Introduction
Adrian Wincup
Watercolour Artist of Broadland and East Anglian Landscapes
Adrian has been painting professionally since 1994. His talent shone through at an early age at school where one of the walls in the art class was nicknamed the 'Wincup wall'. He became a very keen artist and took it up as a hobby for many years.

Later working in the steel industry, Adrians last employer was Richards Shipbuilders, Lowestoft where he sold paintings to fellow workers only to be made redundant when like other heavy industries it closed down due to lack of orders.
This is when in 1994 Adrian decided to become a full time artist and had his first exhibition at the old Garden Gallery, Southwold, Suffolk.
He enjoys painting local landscapes and really loves the beauty of the atmospheric Norfolk Broads. On one occasion a barn owl silently glided past out of the evening mist hovering above the reeds with the evening sun shining through its transparent wings, a magical sight indeed.
Adrian loves to sail on the rivers and backwaters of the Norfolk Broads where he gains inspiration, gliding past the reeds rustling in the summer breeze or gets becalmed on a still evening, with the red sky mirrored on the surface of the water and the banks of mist rolling off the marshes onto the river.
The Mediterranean also draws Adrians search for inspiration , the colourful, beauty and reflections of Venice Italy. The bright colours of flora against the white walls and narrow passage ways of Greece and Spain.
Adrian is also holding Art Courses with Paula Nightingale in the tranquil small white village of Competa, perched on the sun bathed foothills of the Andalucian mountains in Spain, see web for details.
He has had many successful exhibitions to date in Norwich, Lowestoft, Southwold, Aldeburgh, The Pond gallery at Snape Maltings where the International Music Festival takes place at the Benjamin Britten Concert Hall, plus numerous other venues in and around Norfolk and Suffolk. A selection of paintings and prints are always on display at Adrians address (see map in location).
